Despite on-going Covid problems and travel disruptions for some of our members, the 2022 AGM/Gathering held at
the Balavil Hotel was a great success.

Members came from Belgium, Netherland, USA, Northern, Ireland Newtonmore, Caithness, Lancashire, Cheshire, Oxford, Northumberland and elsewhere.

Highlights included a whisky and gin tasting event organised by Ewan Mcllwraith of Robertson’s of Pitlochry on Friday afternoon followed by a special version of ‘Newtonmore Monopoly’ on Friday evening, and a ‘Casino Night’ following the Clan Dinner on the Saturday evening.

On Sunday, Andrew McCracken gave an illustrated talk about the Strathspey Railway Association; several of our members had already enjoyed a trip on this heritage railway.

Nick Hide, CDA Genealogist completed the formal program of the weekend with a talk about the history of the Davidsons in the Badenoch, Strathspey, and surrounding areas.
