Our Clan Gatherings are a great opportunity to get to know others who have Davidson family connections and history. In 2013, we held our Gathering in Ballymena, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland for the first time.

The Clan Davidson has many historical links with this area, where Davidson and Davison families have lived for centuries. St Patrick’s Church in the village of Broughshane has three stained glass Memorial windows to important local Davisons.

With enthusiastic support from local Davisons and Davidsons, 90 people from our Clan family sat down to dinner together on Saturday evening, meeting old friends and making new ones.

Many members had arrived for an informal evening get-together on Friday night, and were honoured to be invited to a reception at the Mayor of Ballymena’s Parlour on Saturday morning.

On Saturday afternoon, members and their friends and families enjoyed an extensively illustrated talk Davidson, Davison – the Irish Connections given by our Clan Davidson Genealogist & Historical Researcher. Entertainment by local musicians concluded our evening. This was a very successful and memorable weekend and we will return in the future.

We were delighted to welcome members who had travelled from Australia and Canada especially to join us for the weekend, and to warmly welcome the Mayor of Ballymena, the Mayor of Larne, and the Dean of Connor to our Clan dinner.
